N.C. Rep. Chuck McGrady may not be around to finish the job of reforming the state’s antiquated alcoholic beverage control laws, but that hasn’t
discouraged him from tackling the issue.
On Tuesday, the Henderson County Republican unveiled his long-discussed legislation to privatize North Carolina’s ABC system.
McGrady, R-Henderson, has announced that he does not plan to seek re-election when his term ends next year. Still, he held a hearing in the House’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Committee, which he co-chairs, to spotlight the bipartisan legislation.
